I went MIA on Friday but I had a good reason for it. I decided to step away from the computer and my smart phone for most of the weekend to really enjoy my little ones before school started. Priorities
!!
I love blogging and social media just as much as the next person(I may or may not have a slight addiction to my phone) but sometimes it is necessary to put it aside to focus on the really important things in life. I was able to really engage with and enjoy my family for three full days without constantly checking to see what others were up to. It was a short but sweet break and now I am ready to get back at it
.
Speaking of getting back at it…..the school year has officially started for my now 2nd grader!!! Over the last couple weeks, I have been saying how I was ready for school to start but when it came down to it, I got a little(or a lot) sad to see my girl heading off to another adventure without me. Still, I am excited for her to see her old school friends and to make new ones!!
The cutest little second grader I know!!!

And just for fun, here she is on the first day of Kindergarten and first grade:

My kids and husband get annoyed with me from time to time because I am always snapping pictures but I am so happy that I have all these memories to look back on!!

WORKIN’ OUT
In other news, I officially joined a new gym on Friday. I have been going back and forth on the idea because while I currently belong to a gym that I enjoy, I haven’t been so great about getting there this Summer. A big part of that was because of my kiddos but the other reason was the distance from my house. It wasn’t an awful drive with it being only 10 miles away but it was far enough that I could use the drive as an excuse when I didn’t feel like going.
My new gym, Anytime Fitness is exactly 2 miles from my house and while I will miss the group exercise classes at my former gym(and my exercise buddy Brandi…sorry, sorry, sorry!!), I feel like this was the right decision for me at this time. I will still have the option to attend Zumba which is my fave but it will be nice not to have my workout schedule dictated by when certain classes are scheduled. Besides, I don’t always want to spend an hour in the gym. I really believe if you get in there and get to work you can bust out an incredible workout in 40 or so minutes.
I am about to head over and get my first workout on!! They provided a free workout journal when I joined so I am going to take this with me and keep track of my workouts with it.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to get in there and lift some heavy weights and feel SORE tomorrow!! It has been much too long, and my arms are showing it
When you were a kid what did you most look forward to on the first day of school?
What are your workout plans for today?
